Planting Fields Springtime Engagement Session

I am excited to share this recent Planting Fields springtime engagement session taken at the beautiful Arboretum in Oyster Bay Long Island.

After a long stretch of rain,  for over a week; the weather finally cleared up on the day of Nicole and Scott’s  photo session.

The day started off overcast but then the sun came out and I was so happy it did.

The rain was worth it – as the gardens were in full bloom with gorgeous colorful flowers.

I was thrilled to photograph Nicole and Scott amidst the beauty of this breathtaking Cherry Blossom tree .?

Cherry blossoms are a lot like life…beautiful and fleeting…

All the more reason to cherish this magical time in Spring and appreciate the precious moments in our lives…

An absolutely charming cottage.

If you have never visited …I highly recommend planning a day trip.

There are so many interesting niches at The Planting Fields – a delight for any lover of gardening and architecture.

I love color and I love to showcase it in my photos – Spring truly is a remarkable season.

I always strive to create natural and romantic portraits.

This is why I get so happy when the sun comes out.

I get to rim light my subjects , which adds dimension and  a touch of magic to the their portraits.

After spending some time at The Planting Fields Arboretum,  Nicole and Scott did a wardrobe change and we drove into the town of Oyster Bay.

This allowed us to get a mix of  backgrounds for their final collection of images: formal gardens, urban and nautical.

 This fabulous corner building is an infamous icon in the village of Oyster Bay.

Dramatic clouds descended when we got to the Marina – it was awesome.

I posed Nicole’s stunning  family heirloom diamond engagement ring on an Oyster Shell that we found in the sand.

I love to include our American flag in photos.

And seagulls are always welcome to photobomb my portraits anytime…

I love the patch of light hitting the trees in the distance – it was truly a spectacular sky that afternoon.
