Wedding at Jamesport Manor Inn
I had never photographed a wedding at the Jamesport Manor Inn until Jillian and Lan’s nuptials.
And in Jillian’s own words from an email post wedding, “It was such a wild but wonderful day.”
The Jamesport Manor Inn is a historic and renowned restaurant on the North Fork.
Wedding events are hosted in their charming apple tree orchard and courtyard.
Jillian and Lan are nature lovers and the beautiful grounds were the perfect backdrop for their wedding portraits.
The weather forecast did contain a threat of rain, so a tent was put in place at the ceremony site the night before.
We managed to get their “first look” and most of their wedding portraits done before the first rain shower.
Then, as Jillian and Lan exchanged vows under the tent; rolls of thunder bellowed in the background.
Within minutes of receding their ceremony, rain began to fall; guests grabbed umbrellas for cover during their receiving line.
The rain turned into an intense downpour that lasted almost the entire cocktail hour.
Then a rainbow!
But the thunder and rain was not finished…it returned with a fury.
During the reception, Jillian’s mom commiserated with me about the rain; how it had affected the day, the planning and decor.
I loved what she said to me, ” But there’s a lot of happy people here to photograph.”
She was absolutely right.
That is what it is all about.
There was an abundance of laughter and hugs by all.
Jillian and Lan (and their families) handled this “wild” day with incredible grace, love and acceptance and because of that, it truly was such a “wonderful ” day.
Especially for nature lovers!
I am sharing several images from their first look as I loved their reactions and expressions.
The calm before the storm. Such incredible cloud formations!
Jillian’s friend and former roommate for many years got ordained and did an amazing job officiating their wedding.
A reaction to a LOUD boom of thunder!
Jillian and Lan set up an easel with a “Create Art from Your Heart” that invited their guests to draw with markers on these mini canvases to be a part of a keepsake mosaic.
Another boom of thunder during speeches!
Thank you ever so much Jillian and Lan for choosing me to photograph your “wild but wonderful wedding” at The Jamesport Manor Inn.
Wishing you a lifetime of hugs and laughter – rain or shine!
XOXO
