Wedding at Jamesport Manor Inn<\/h2>\n

\"Wedding<\/p>\n

I had never photographed a wedding at the Jamesport Manor Inn until Jillian and Lan’s nuptials.<\/p>\n

And in Jillian’s own words from an email post wedding, “It was such a wild but wonderful day.”<\/p>\n

The Jamesport Manor Inn<\/a> is a historic and renowned restaurant on the North Fork.<\/p>\n

Wedding events are hosted in their charming apple tree orchard and courtyard.<\/p>\n

Jillian and Lan are nature lovers and the beautiful grounds were the perfect backdrop for their wedding portraits.<\/p>\n

The weather forecast did contain a threat of rain, so a\u00a0tent was put in place at the ceremony site the night before.<\/p>\n

We managed to get their “first look” and most of their wedding portraits done before the first rain shower.<\/p>\n

Then, as Jillian and Lan exchanged vows under the tent; rolls of thunder bellowed in the background.<\/p>\n

Within minutes of receding their ceremony, rain began to fall; guests grabbed umbrellas for cover during their receiving line.<\/p>\n

The rain turned into an intense downpour that lasted almost the entire cocktail hour.<\/p>\n

Then a rainbow!<\/p>\n

But the thunder and rain was not finished…it returned with a fury.<\/p>\n

During the reception, Jillian’s mom commiserated with me\u00a0about the rain;\u00a0 how it had affected the day, the planning and decor.<\/p>\n

\u00a0I loved what she said to me, ” But there’s a lot of happy people here to photograph.”<\/p>\n

She was absolutely right.<\/p>\n

That is what it is all about.<\/p>\n

There was an abundance of laughter and hugs by all.<\/p>\n

Jillian and Lan (and their families) handled this “wild” day with incredible grace, love and acceptance and because of that, it truly was such a “wonderful ” day.<\/p>\n

Especially for nature lovers!<\/p>\n

The calm before the storm. Such incredible cloud formations!<\/p>\n

Jillian’s friend and former roommate for many years got ordained and did an amazing job officiating their wedding.<\/p>\n

A reaction to a LOUD boom of thunder!<\/p>\n

\u00a0Jillian and Lan set up an easel with a “Create Art from Your Heart” that invited their guests to draw with markers on these mini canvases to be a part of a keepsake mosaic.<\/p>\n
