This surprise wedding proposal photo was taken at The Fire Island Lighthouse at Robert Moses State Park.

Photographing surprise marriage proposals involves not only taking photos, but planning.
This is part of the service that I provide upon hiring me to document this special moment.
I visited the Lighthouse the day before the session and chose this spot based on the spectacular lighting and privacy.
Then shared the logistics/plan (via marked up cell phone photos) with the groom to be so he would know where to stop and kneel, thus alleviating any additional nerves that may be present.
It worked like a charm!
After she said, "Yes!", we took some just engaged photos around the grounds of the Lighthouse.
