I had been wishing to photograph an engagement session in a field of sunflowers and that wish came true last year!
My friend and fellow photographer, Sherry Pickerell referred these wonderful clients to me, and I could not be more thankful!
The session took place at Martin Sidor Farms in Mattituck, also known as North Fork Potato Chips. In fact, North Fork Potato Chips harvests the sunflower seeds to extract the oil to produce the potato chips.
While the sunflowers are growing locals and tourists flock to the maze and admire their cheerful beauty.
This bride to be is a huge sunflower fan and it was her wish too.
It is so rewarding to provide photographic memories and share in the lives of the couples that hire me.
This session took place in August and had to be rescheduled a few times because of stormy weather.
The weather was perfect the day of the session and the sun was shining against a deep blue sky, just as I had been hoping for. I love the contrast of the blue sky against the deep yellow sunflowers. Bees were buzzing about and one can be seen flying into the left side of this photo.
