This photo was taken outdoors during a wedding ceremony at A Taste of Honey Caterers in Staten Island.
The ceremony was held in front of the gazebo on the venue's park like grounds known as Nansen's Lodge.
I love the way the sunlight is hitting the bride's eyes - lighting up her iris as she gazes into her groom's eyes as they are about to say their vows.
I am always on the lookout for dramatic light and in this instance there was extreme contrast of highlight and shadow. Exposing for the highlights yielded a dramatic and magical look. Which was fitting for this particular bride and groom's wedding that had a whimsical theme.
This was my first time working at A Taste of Honey Caterers and I really loved working there.
This venue has a very relaxed and family like vibe which makes for an enjoyable experience.
The wedding reception took place under their spacious covered tented pavilion.
And this is not a typical "tent."
The ceiling is a real ceiling with wooden beams.
There was ample space on the dance floor and the ability to host 250 plus guests!
Prior to the ceremony we stopped at South Beach for photos and took pictures on the boardwalk with the iconic Verrazzano bridge in the background.
There are also trees on the grounds of Nansen's park and I photographed some romantic bride and groom photos there as well.
More of this wedding can be seen here on my blog.
