Nautical Shelter Island Wedding at The Pridwin Hotel

I am excited to share this Pridwin Hotel wedding that took place last month on Shelter Island.

There is something magical about Shelter Island and it is such a wonderful place to have a wedding.

And if you live on Long Island – it is like having a destination wedding in your own backyard.

I first met up with Erica and Arel back in June for their Shelter Island engagement session which you can see here.

Sharing some of my favorites from their special day…

Erica and her bridesmaids got ready in this quaint little cottage  which is part of the Pridwin Hotel. 

I placed Erica’s bouquet on this weathered adirondack chair which is so quintessential of Shelter Island.

Erica wore her grandmother’s beautiful heirloom  cocktail ring and bracelet.

The weather was cloudy but Erica’s smile shone brighter than the sun as she made her way down the steps of the Pridwin Hotel cottage bluffs to the dock where Arel was waiting for their first look.

I love the nautical colors for their first look.

Summer weddings always bring a few unwanted guests/pests – as Erica’s bridesmaids pluck them out of her dress. Erica takes everything in stride… =)

Erica and Arel are both avid sailors.  So it was a wonderful to see this sailboat pass through the background during their wedding ceremony.  

Erica and Arel wrote their own vows which were so touching.

After a series of toasts – Erica and Arel  had their first dance followed by Erica and her Dad’s dance.

Erica’s wedding dress was one of the prettiest wedding gowns I have ever seen and it seems to come alive when in motion.

Erica and Arel are fans of the Long Island band  The Realm and I now know why. They are awesome…so talented and down to earth too!
