Long Island Marriage Proposal Photographer | Atlantic Beach, NY | Engagement
I am excited to share another Long Island surprise marriage proposal on my blog!
This proposal took place at Atlantic Beach, NY – located on Long Beach barrier island.
I’ve said it before and it bears worth repeating, “Life is not an Instagram feed.”
Instagram features countless of “surprise” marriage proposals that garner thousands of likes and comments.
Many of the proposals include the following: rose petals in the shape of a heart, props, candles and such to set the stage.
The proposer and proposee are dressed in designer clothing and hair and makeup are professionally done.
These “stages” are a dead giveaway to any intuitive proposee upon seeing and thus their reaction of shock is a mere performance.
I am not a fan of such proposals.
Capturing pure emotions and honest reactions requires the proposer to keep proposal plans natural and real, void of props.
Jake and Jess are frequent visitors to Atlantic Beach and Jake’s plan was to simply go for a walk before meeting up with their family later in the evening for dinner.
This was something that they would normally do as a couple.
Jake got down on one knee and proposed marriage and Jess said, “YES!”
And did he ever catch her totally surprised!
Her reaction says it all!
Happy tears galore!
A victorious thumbs up in the air from Jake.
Followed by hugs, kisses, engagement ring admiration and pure happiness.
Afterwards we took some just engaged photos on the beach.
It was perfect! Natural! Emotive!
