I am so excited to share another Montauk surprise marriage proposal at Gurney’s Montauk Resort.
Gurney’s Resort and Seawater Spa is the perfect place to plan a romantic getaway.
When planning a surprise marriage proposal – it is key to have a plan that makes sense and seems natural.
Especially if you want the element of shock and surprise.
Forgo the corny signs and chessy rose petal hearts in the sand.
Not only will they look dated in years to come but they will diminish the surprise factor.

What better plan that to simply enjoy a luxurious weekend together at Gurney’s Resort and then pop the question as you walk on the beach.
That is exactly what Dabir did and his sweetheart Rija was TOTALLY surprised!
I loved capturing her emotive reaction and all of their expressions as the moment unfolded.
I especially loved her hilarious reaction when she realized Dabir hired me to photograph it.
Had we strewn rose petals, blankets and lanterns – Rija’s expressions would have been vastly different.
We were able to capture some sunset photos and afterwards Dabir and Rija had dinner at Gurney’s Scarpetta Beach.
I am sure they will revisit Gurney’s again and reminisce about the moment that Rija said, “Yes!”
