I am so excited to share this Long Island elopement at Royalton Equestrian Farms in Mattituck!
Especially when an elopement is on the beautiful North Fork of Long Island and includes a majestic horse!
Royalton Farms is an equestrian community and it includes a luxurious estate on it’s gorgeous grounds.
Years ago, elopements were defined as couple secretly running away to get married.
Times have changed!
Today, elopements are rising in popularity as many couples prefer to have an intimate wedding.
Typically, they include just the couple and one or two witnesses. Sometimes, just a handful of loved ones from their immediate family.
In this case the groom’s brother was in attendance.
Choosing a location that is meaningful, whether it be New York City, Montauk, the North Fork or the Hudson Valley adds so much personality.
In this case, the bride boards her beloved horse, “Boy Blue” at Royalton Equestrian Farms. Boy Blue is a dappled grey Irish Sport Horse.
Royalton Farms is more than just a “pretty place”, it has a personal connection and meaning to this couple.
Elopements and intimate weddings are a great choice especially for the bride or groom that does not like to be the center of attention.
Whether you want to say your vows at City Hall in New York City, Montauk Lighthouse or a farm on the North Fork it will be your unique day.
Without the expectations and input of others or a large bridal party it allows the couple to focus completely on their union.
I loved photographing Brittany and Edmond’s wedding.
They wrote poignant personal vows to each other and were married inside the stunning estate.
Afterwards we took wedding portraits with and without “Boy Blue.”
I was in photography heaven: a couple deeply in love, breathtaking architecture, majestic horse, a charming barn, during the Autumn and surrounded by nature.
All wonderful ingredients to capture their elopement story.
